We waited it out. It took about 2 weeks.

Reaching the unbearable reek stage means you're almost done. I'd leave it alone. It's nothing you want to see. Remembering the smell is one thing, scrubbing your brain from the sight is an entirely different problem.

Good luck!Moihttp://www.lastgoodnerve.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090917550030470693.post-37745634593880044632009-10-24T16:13:52.641-05:002009-10-24T16:13:52.641-05:00FWIW... My landlord tried to get me to "wait it out." After a few days, the smell had not really abated much at all. I gave up and threatened him with all sorts of consequences, and he sent guys to rip open the wall. Seemed like they were able to find the approximate spot to tear open by following their noses... the hole wasn't that big. No idea what it cost the wretched landlord.K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07851315078747314172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090917550030470693.post-20087443769163511142009-10-23T05:37:20.515-05:002009-10-23T05:37:20.515-05:00I'm interested to see which side everyone chim...I'm interested to see which side everyone chimes in on... my sister-in-law is enduring this same scenario. They are letting nature run it's course. My husband spent the night there and couldn't sleep it was soo bad. I thought she was crazy, but now I that I really think about it...it's not soo easy a choice. I still think I'd have to make a hole. The smell was coming up through the floor vents ...) Dis-gusting. But it will go away soon enough. In the meantime, might I suggest a hotel? With bar service??? :)Kristiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18325715096763265816noreply@blogger.com
